Hi all. What do we think of this Tsuba? And why would the sukashi be filled in?? Reading on here, the filling of sukashi spaces is usually referred as gan-kin (嵌金)...but I am unsure of the purpose. Thanks for any info on this! Thanks! Dave

Hi everyone! Reviving this old thread. Anyone have thoughts on the armor chest? The symbol on it? This cloth and silk pouch were found in the bottom of the chest. Any idea? Yorimasa? Literally translates to Trust the Government? But probably not the real meaning. Thank you!

So a Mitsumuni (three sided mune) is known to be a characteristic of Yamashiro den or Soshu den?

Any other ideas? So far we are thinking early 1500s? I know it's tough to guess with just pictures though.

No stamp marks are apparent, but the owner should be posting more pics soon.
