  6. Hi, just looking for some general information about him, ´cause the only source I could find so far is "the WWII Swordsmith-Ranking by Kurihara Hikosaburo" where he is ranked -Chuge Saku- (only!?) As well he is not listed in Slough´s book so I was wondering if his work is rather average or ???? I bought a Blade signed "Oite Hattori Tanto Jo Mizukoshi Hiromitsu Saku Kore" about 10 yrs. ago and now that there is an opportunity to learn more I´d like to seize the chance... Any opinion is highly appreciated. Lutz
  7. might be too good to be true but could also be an alienation of a legal estate. At least all items look to be genuine and well cared. Why don´t you ask questions like does anybody know one (or more) of the blades offered? did a known collector pass away recently? I really don´t think that the actual seller is a collector but rather a liquidator or comissioned by one which could easily be found out by asking Greets Lutz H.
  8. Very informative article indeed! Thank you very much, Carlo! regards, Lutz
  9. I never expected a single blade to have such a vast number of hagire until I bought this "flawless" waki from daimyou54eb years ago Never again!!!! Lutz
  10. Good evening everybody! What does a polishers mark under the Habaki and on the Mune by the Kissaki mean? Any information about that would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Lutz
  11. Thank you guys for answering this post. Have added some more pictures of the blade. Unfortunately I´m just useless in takin good photographs.( If there´s something you might want to see in particular, let me know please)... By the way: bought this blade in dreadful condition on a garage sale in virginia from a veteran´s widow. Did not ask for any information ´bout it. Sorry Kind regards, Lutz
  12. Hello everybody! I have a signed wakizashi and I can´t find a proper reference on the net nor my books. If my translation is correct the signature reads: "Noshu Ju Kanesada" 濃州住兼定. Does anybody have further information about this smith? Any help would be great and !!! thanks, Lutz
