    Early Wakizashi

Enclosed are pictures of a double signature Wakizashi. The blade measures 17.50 inches, total overall length 21.75 inches. Blade max width 1.10 minimum width .700. Blade has a fairly active hamon. I believe this is an early sword and I’m hoping the forum folks will agree too. Thanks Dow C

    Sword Find

As promised here are the tang markings. The sword measures end to end 34.50 inches. The blade is 27 inches. Max blade width is 1.10 inches and narrow's down to .620. The tang does not appear to have been shorten. And I'm a bit surprised to see only one tang hole.

    Sword Find

I did manage to get the handle off last night and discovered probably the most tang markings I have ever seen on a tang. At the moment I'm away from home due to busniess and will post more pictures in the near future.

    Sword Find

Recent sword find here with an unusual long narrow blade. The blade appears to have been repolished. And I think it's old. Now here's the problem someone has glued the tang and the tang peg into the handle. Which means I will have to destroy the handle to see if their any any tang markings. Would a X-ray reveal any markings if present?
  13. Here is a mark on the chop stick knife.
  14. Here is another Wakizachi find no tang marks either.
  15. Tang picture. Dow
  16. In closed is a picture of some more odds and ends. I like the knife with the chop sticks. The handle on the top appears to be old. Dow
  17. One more picture.
  18. Recent pick up here for review and comment. The sword has no tang marks except for the knife. I'm not familiar with this type of scabbard or the material used in making it. Best Dow Cross
  19. Here are pictures of the other items the pike type weapons are almost 10 feet long the other pole weapon does not have any tang markings, included is a Persian battle helmet. Dow Cross
  20. The pole weapon came from a old woman whose husband died recently and left a lot of stuff. I also picked up another pole weapon and three pike type weapons which are about eight or nine feet long. Best Dow Cross
  21. Thanks for the replies I suspected the tag that came with the pole weapon wasn't correct. Best Dow
