After a fine pub lunch with friends,four swords turned up :D All military mounted and have just looke at the first,seems Koto,polished with chrome cleaner but has a combat cover with clip over section. Underneath is the two hand written script,certainly by the surrender officer,any help with the translation would be most appreciated. Thanks folks Roy

Have to say that in the past I had two Showa period Somen which were spectacular, shinto or koto Somen would have been un affordable for most folk,me included. Agree that those "mon" were pretty lousy and wonder why the maker did that as the rest from the pic's make it seem decent work. I have this mei which am pretty sure reads, Minamoto Masa Uji...then the forth character seems either to be Tsugu or Fusa which makes no sense. final being Tsukuru. Have back checked and cannot find a Masa Uji signing in this fashion,am very rusty now at trasnslations, have I gone astray here?. Thanks in advance
