  1. Peter, That looks like a very nice Masaaki piece.
  2. In order to properly read the kanji, the brush strokes are important as kanji on the computer sometimes look quite different than the kanji on the mei.
  3. They really need to work on that website. It's darn near impossible to navigate and website is also rather slow.
  4. 1st one: 石黒正明 + kao (Ishiguro Masaaki) 1813-1878 2nd one: 法眼春明 + kao (Hogen or Hougen Haruaki) 1787-1860
  5. I presume all of the 300,000 and 200,000 etc are prices in yen.
  6. Let's not post veiled flames at the seller. If you don't like his auctions, ignore them. So what if he had help? Wouldn't you want help to sell something you know little about? Or would you rather get ripped off by the buyers?

    Tomotsugu

I have my name set to be posted by default as my sig. Maybe you have your settings not to display other people's sig in their posts. :D

    Tomotsugu

Nope. Just trying to pin down a period that this artist worked as so far no one has ideas who exactly this Tomotsugu was.

    Tomotsugu

Maybe I should send the tsuba to shinsa and find out who was this Tomotsugu. This tsuba may pre-date Yonemitsu if the seller was correct in saying this was made towards the end of Edo period.

    Tomotsugu

The seller had said Irogane & Nunome. The tsuba is Higo. After seeing the pictures Ford linked to, one day I hope to own a Yonemitsu tsuba. :D Same technique used in another tsuba.
  11. The writing looks like Kanenobu or Kanemichi.

    Tomotsugu

As this tsuba is part of my collection, I'm trying to find out more about the artist Tomotsugu as all of the information I have is from the seller. The tsuba looks like it was never mounted or used. I'm also in the process of increasing my fittings book collection as I study them. The pictures are from the seller as my scanner couldn't have provided the same quality images.
  13. Perhaps the mon is this.
  14. ERic, it is because he knew I won't pay 28k$ for the lot Jean, it's not that much converted to euros. I guess that seller really don't want to deal with shipping. I have to help a friend sell an antique murphy bed and he doesn't want to deal with shipping that either.
  15. I think this artist was more skillful than the one that created this.
  16. I think it was Stephen that mentioned scanning nihonto on a flatbed scanner with a dark cloth covering the item to prevent too much reflection.
  17. I believe it is.
  18. Here's my common theme Echizen kinai tsuba.
  19. It's a kozuka signed yasushi kore. There are several names for 安 though. As to which are tosugu related, I have no idea.
  20. Also ending your post with a name instead of people calling referring to you as 'goinlower6969' would make it a friendlier to most folks on NMB willing to help you.
  21. I don't think anyone has been able to get in touch with the estate to buy the books for quite a while. I know I've tried and I'm within driving distance from the estate.
  22. I think I picked up a set from Paragon a short while back for $250. I also got the 1981 edition.
  23. Definitely no deal unless there's a Muramasa hiding in the lot.
  24. Maybe taking a long holiday.
  25. The seller should just send it to shinsa if the seller was that certain.
