  5. Hello, I would appreciate some help with translating this piece, I purchase this tanto recently and am having trouble finding the maker. I've gone through my books and i can't find anything quite like this I believe it is koto between 1370-1440. I cannot identify the school nor the maker. I'm reading the signature as muneiyekuni and the last character is either hise or moto I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tim S.
  6. Good Morning, I asked my son to post these four tanto for me as I have been sick with heart trouble and am having difficulty translating the shinsa papers. I seem too do well enough with swords but never quite got the hang of fittings makers mei's. Any assistantance will be greatly appreciated. I intend to post a few interesting pieces for study and commentary including a tanto by Masao and a tanto by Kajihei both are custom ordered blades. Tim S
