Perhaps I should have been clearer, I was referring to what Chris said - Not Keith Austin. When I first saw this ebay listing for a Nobuyoshi I immediately thought "could this be a Keith Austin blade?" but on inspection of the mei saw that it was a different smith by the same name, as per the link you referenced. It is a very nice blade but I was hoping to see one by the blue eyed sword smith.

Some examples of what I think are rain dragons from my bits and bobs drawer, most of you have probably have seen many similar things; a jovial fellow on an old wari kogai: and a higo kozuka, different artist and era but same subject I believe: This one is no longer mine, but it's for sale and I know where to find it I think it is kaga work, I was always told they were rain dragons:

Dream job! :D seriously though, hasn't this been standard practise for many years? (Putting a quality period sword together with appropriately matched quality period fittings to sell at profit...) I thought that's basically exactly what dealers do to make a living. In the absence of deception, who loses out from this arrangement?

Interesting to see the hira wrap over where the menuki are placed...was the tsukamakishi concerned with damaging them?

WOW. This is amazing! Wonder how many of these will reappear in my lifetime...definitely a call for some sort of celebration Am I the only one wondering who is this mystery man from Osaka? Good of him to see it go to a national museum. One would hope that this is one they will take good care of.
