  1. Had a chance to take better pictures - A little more info- Sword has been in possession for over 30+ years and the NAKAGO was never cleaned during that time. It measures 27" and tassel/knot was added . Thanks everyone for their input -It blows my mind if it is truly from the 1500's I do have a few more swords to inquire about at a later time
  2. Thank you-will try and get better shots when i'm there here are 2 i already had-I have no knowledge in Japanese Sword history but this sure gives me a very old blade vibe. Here a few from other day
  3. Now the Ugly -Bullet hole
  4. It was listed as Masachika in journal This sword is my favorite even though it has a major issue-if any one could shed some light on the signature it would be appreciated -will post pics in multiple posts -If this sword could talk ! Thanks
  5. Here are a few more pics i took today -balls are not steel - could be lead or Gold under the covers
  6. It is a piece from Louie Mills - My father in-law and Louie had attended a show in Chicago together and this was a piece he received on the way home. He can't remember when but thinks 35-40 years ago.
  7. Just thought I would share this -
  8. I will get more pics next time i'm there and post them -Thanks everyone Until then here's a few
  9. Curious what is the item hanging on Tsuba. I didn't pay much attention to them when i was oiling the sword but now as I look at pictures it has me wondering . I do remember thinking that they were heavy for being so small-Owner had it recorded as Officers sword Leather Scabbard -Thanks
  10. Thanks for the reply's. A family member has a few swords that I pulled out and oiled for him that hadn't seen daylight in 15 years -WD40 was his choice that he would use (After reading care for swords i got Choji oil that I used.) All the blades were in great condition. I did take a few pictures and now looking back at them i find myself with question and hope to post them here. The knowledge here is incredible -Thanks again
  11. Curious what these symbols represent -Thanks
