It seems Brian and Mariusz are on to something. The sukashi work does not appear to be integrated with with basic design.

Go for the piano keys they are a good bet. A good horse hair brush similar to that used in print making is useful, it is referred to as maru bake. When it comes to tsuba cleaning less is always more. Check out Jim Gilbert's tsuba pages for cleaning detailed cleaning instructions. I would not recommend oiling your tsuba although, as someone has said here, iron and oil are old friends.

Not quite Jean, it depends on the time zone. 6:25 remaining here and 9:25 for our neighbors in Alaska and Hawaii.

It appears that sword was also used in the senseless and indiscriminate slaughter of grammar and syntax.

In years past the NBTHK provided a translation sheet with sword origami. It contained the kanji and what appears to be the Nelson number and an English translation. It was very useful for early kanji learners. Do any of you veterans know when that practice began and when it was stopped?

Lighten up boss, we were discussing the vagueries of the California Penal Code, Part I Title 8 Section 12020(a)(1) wherein it is illegal to own or carry a sword cane. However,next door in our neighboring state of Arizona it is quite legal.
