Hello everybody, Here some (bad pictures) I took at Nijojo Castel. I suggest a little challenge finding Who is Who from the top 1 to the bottom 6, I'll put futher picture to help finishing with nakago... You will have to find which one is masamume, muramasa, nagazone kotetsu, Ikkansai Shigetsugu, and a last mystery one you have to find (extra point). Maybe easy for some, maybe educational or fun for others. I will give the rate of correct by MP, as many trys as you like. Hope you'll enjoy...

Thoughts on these types of listings
Tohagi replied to klee's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
There's à flaw in the kissaki IMO, The hamon is runing out the ha... But your impression of good sugata is shared! Best regards, Éric VD -
My two cents... (Whithout warranty from the governement)... Around the surender, when Mac Arthur was governor of the Japan, there was an Edit that force the Japanese to give up the swords (to breack nationalist spirit), many where family swords and the owners were allowed to keep the koshirae ( many full koshirae are untouched and papered since). This could had a reason to all above. I personally noted tsukas with two mekugi ana in the same, the first filled with rice paper, and modified sayas... Some modifications were antiques !... Best regards, Éric VD

It's a nice tanto, and it is complet. The mountings are matching but have been cleaned. In an (good) auction in France you could expect 1.500€ undependently of the meï ( the blade is good looking). If it could be kotetsu, you can add a 0 or more. Be carefull, an action is a very "emotional" deal and you'll have fees. It's just my opinion without hiden thoughts and I can be very far from a fair prince. Hope this could help... Éric VD

Hi, That's a good question, I Nevers counted... that's probably a sign of guiltyness. I probably have a dozen tsubas, but only a few papered and maybe only two high rank. ...almost nothing compared to Spartancrest. Best regards, Éric VD

Sorry, I strictely respect the no picture rule, so I can't show you the exhibit tokay (onbo day). Most swords are shownd ha down, to show public the meï, but in that way you can't appreciate hamon. IMO 2 very beautifull nihonto only, a wonderfull tanto and the Sadamune. Éric VD

They changes the expo for the summer. Onlyvcabinet 5 and 6 at second floor and 13.1 &2 at rdc. 15 swords overall, nonne national treasure. A desaster IMO. Saw better pièces at Ginza Seiyudo... Kind regards, Éric VD

I was at the NMT this afternoon for the first time.... so disappointed. I cross alf the world to see the great Yasutsuna's Dojigiri, and it wasn't there. Very few swords in reality, 2 or 3 great swords only counting an over the top Sadamune... Overall, the descriptions and the lightening where so poor... I don't understand... Best regards Éric VD

That's quite a big name in Soshu, the hamon could match...the bohi is unusual in this kind of works. I hope you this will be a good attribution, it will be very interesting to study. Best regards, Eric

If it is from a koto school, it could be Hasebe, Shiga, Sue Soshu or Sue Bizen... after, at muromachie, styles copies each other, this hitatsura seems particular... could be Hiroyoshi? Difficult to guess without full pics... Did the seller gives you an attribution or only the era ? Best regards, Éric VD
