It's a consignment sale, that's why they listed is before they received the papers
-
I think their disappointment is from it being labeled as a saiha
-
Considering your opinion, makes me want to get it but I agree, we need to see the nbthk papers to make the decision to get it or not

https://www.aoijapan.com/tachi-:-unknown-signature-ko-naminohiranbthk-tokubetsu-hozon-token/ A recently added piece by aoi-art. Nice curvature, koshi-sori, ubu and originally signed but signature is too worn down to read. Usual big name attribution by honami nisshu but I have 2 concerns, one the hamon is really close to the edge. Is it something common in the school or is it just worn down due to polishing. Second, there is a piece of paper that was posted in the listing for the sword. I'm not sure what it says or what it's is for. Any information is appreciated.

No major flaws just some black rust spots along the blade and some more recent rust spots near the habaki area

Bought it as my first shinto sword since I mainly focus on koto swords, I thought I paid a fair price but just wanted opinions form others to know it's value

I won a auction on this a while ago for about $600-$700usd on ebay. It has nthk papers and was attributed to den echizen seki I would like to know if I had overpaid it or not

A recent acquisition from Pablo kuntz from unique Japan. Thought I share a high quality, soshu den katana by kashu sanekage. Though it fail 70th juyo shinsa, it was given great remarks by the judges

Saw this listing on e-sword.jp Decent wakizashi form the late muromachi but I saw this noticable discoloration on the hamon. Is it form over polishing or something else https://www.e-sword....isashi/2410-2040.htm

Whilst traveling in Japan, I got this nice edo period tsuba from a souvenir shop in Kanazawa, Japan. Not sure what type of style or what it is depicting all I know it is a openwork tsuba. Any information is appreciated

Update: I have decided not to get the sword mainly due to the lack of budget.
-
I saw 2 other sword one by shikkake and another by ryumon so I'm still deciding

I just saw the sword in person. I agree, the pictures don't do the sword justice. I would put up pictures but they exceed the max file size for posting and I could not get a clear enough picture for the jigane

https://www.aoijapan...th-nbthk-juyo-token/ Looking at this piece I went down a rabbithole about awataguchi swords and smiths. Though I maybe new to this hobby I know that this is definitely a rare and value piece in any collector's collection. I'm currently in Japan to see the sword in person but i have 2 questions. First, should I go for it? Second, how rare are awataguchi swords in the market.
