  1. Pretty sure I don’t count as a collector since I’m broke with no nihonto (for now), but I’m 18. I feel like a newborn compared to some of you.
  2. The patina does look faked, looks like mostly red and brown rust, with a line of less rusted metal running down the nakago (maybe, can't really tell with the picture quality).
  3. The last character vaguely resembles the kanji for origin, 元, but it's a bit of a stretch. Laminated wood is strange, but I'm still a rookie when it comes to nihonto so I cant really say much.
  4. Hey hey hey fellas, guess who's back and still hasn't bought a nihonto! It's me, I'm that guy I was wondering if any of you fellas had any wakizashi in good condition and polish that you're willing to sell, preferably something under 900 USD, but I'm willing to spend 1000 USD. I've realised that it's probably best to buy a wakizashi to start my collection, since they're usually cheaper, and still can be very beautiful. I'm in Australia, so shipping will be a pain, but it is what it is.
  5. Hey fellas, A couple of months ago my great uncle showed me his swords while I was visiting him in Japan. Now I want to start collecting nihonto. I'm wanting to buy a katana, in good condition, but my budget is fairly small, only 2000 AUD. I was wondering if you guys could help me. I'm also wondering if I should just save up some more money. Thanks.
