  1. Thanks for the help and opinions. Would this pattern on another sword I have be considered a ‘Jada’ line?
  2. Thanks so much for all your help. Very glad I found experts
  3. Thank you very much
  4. Thank you very much. Extremely helpful
  5. Thank you! Greatly appreciate the help
  6. Hey everyone. I was encouraged to post here because I have a stamp I am Unfamiliar with - I’ve seen the 3 rings stamp before. Does anyone have an idea about the more intricate stamp? thoughts?
  7. Hello all and thanks for your previous expertise. I need the collective knowledge again as I have been able to purchase a sword but am unfamiliar with one of its ‘stamps’. I have seen the 3 rings before. I’ve never seen the other one. Has anyone else come across this? second question is- the blade is pretty corroded. I’ve heard that typically you do not clean them. What is your opinions on this? lastly, were the metal handled Katanas tangs typically signed or is it better to not investigate? thanks in advance -

All, I apologize for starting what is likely a common thread, but I have a sword that is a mystery and I need some expert input into what I have found. Please forgive newbie language. The blade of the sword is 27.5 inches long and the sword weighs 3.1 pounds. What confuses me about this sword is the following: The Blade It appears that the blade has a very prominent Jihada which I think is Itame Hada. The blade is steel in that magnets do adhere to it. The blade has a defined Kissaki and a defined Yokote The blade is still somewhat sharp, but not razor sharp The blade has a full tang, but no signature. It does have a couple of black marks that look like a 'I' and a 'O' The Fittings The Habaki has numbers stamped on it The handle appears to have the correct wrap and the correct ray skin The scabbard The scabbard seems to fit the sword in its design and its ornamentation To me, the scabbard seems too ornate So I hope I may be able to tap into the collective knowledge of the group and I thank you all in advance
