  1. I collect books, knives, movie props, arms a few other things. Here are some bokuto from the Last Samurai.
  2. Yotsumoto no sakura
  3. You could always decant the spray paint and mix in some brown, then airbrush it on if you have one.
  4. I saw this on another forum. My thoughts are: Stamps seem wrong. The ferrule should be black with the black tsuba. The latch looks off. Bohi is off. The numbers are upside down. Am I wrong on this? Thanks
  5. That's pretty cool @Bruce Pennington So we're the unsigned, numbered Gunto not quenched? Why don't they have a hamon? What were acid etched hamon? I assume they were just for looks.
  6. @John C Yeah, I usually only see the same 3 or 4 photos and they are low quality. The US has millions of WW2 pics. Not sure why the Japanese don't have high quality photos as well.
  7. Are there a lot of photos anywhere of Gunto, Kai-Gunto etc being made? I have tried searching but haven't found many photos or any film. I'd be interested to see the difference between a handmade vs a machine made sword. Not traditional handmade but something with a real hamon as apposed to a numbered sword.
  8. Thanks for all of the great information!!! I appreciate it very much. This place is amazing.
  9. @Bencld Thanks for sharing. The Dai-Seppa on yours look correct. The dot pattern is smaller and the lines are much cleaner. I still haven't found one that matches the one I have. Leading me to thing it is a reproduction. I think yours and mine are both missing the Brass Seppa. Does your Tsuba rattle slightly?
  10. Photoshop is the best tool but it's expensive.
  11. It was brought up that Dai-Seppa for these were not cast but rather stamped or cut out. Has anyone see examples of cast versions? Here's mine and a sample I found on the internet. Do mine look like reproductions?
  12. @Bruce Pennington Here are the close up pics.
  13. @Bruce Pennington I'll take a pic. I thought it didn't have a drag.
  14. Thank you! @mecox and @Bruce Pennington Yes, the Tsuba is slightly loose. This could explain the missing brass Seppa. Does the blade look authentic? If so, the only issue would be the re-wrap? I tested the Tsuba with a magnet and it's not magnetic. I was told the original material wasn't either. Thanks to everyone for all the help! Does anyone know who can do a re=wrap of the re-wrap or would it be better to buy an original Koshirae?
  15. Do these fittings look original?
