  3. Hi Piers, Here is one I picked up a long time ago. The blade looks like the one in your pics., I think that these were torist thingys. I just loved the art work on mine. Likely very common, from other Japanese works. But still very nice. I like the mop wings, and the nice eggplant closer I think I got this for about 200$ with shipping, maybe less. Not sure. Mark G
  4. It is a wolf k9. For years, I commanded a fighter household called the "Hell Hounds". A dozen hockey/rugby, players, allowed to hit people with ratan swords. With no penalty box When you became a hell hound, you got a wolf tooth. And I do play Samurai at war about 1/2 the time. There are some huge Samurai Households in the SCA. Sorry Brian, People can write me for more info dgreen7@bellsouth.net
  5. Whoa! I guess I am owned. I guess I'm just Maori at heart. 80% of my friends are 'Brothers of the Sword'. Sword/gun collectors, or full contact, midieval, sword fighters. I call my good fiends "Bro" as a short for brother, in the Maori way. I feel the people on this list are Brothers of the sword as well, so in love, and brotherhood, I call ya'll "Bro". I have never been very GQ, unless you count my 14thC garb I put on for SCA events. So, if I call you "Bro", know that is in the Maori way. Love Ya'll Mark G
  6. Thanks guys, What would be a true Daisho set? Tsuba made just for the that reason? Mark G

Hi Gang, While digging through my old fittings box I found this nice set??? of Menuki. Anyone have any ideas? Is this a set? Is that like the sun rising over the ocean? The back has been filled with silver? Please help, and thanks. Mark G
  10. Hi gang. I have this set of Tsuba that I would like some help on. I'm fairly sure they are a set? Some of the zogan dots are missing, but other than that not in bad shape. Would you, that know much more than I, please help give me a clue on their orign/age. Thanks for any help. Yes the Wak Tsuba band is smaller, but it seems proportional. ?? Some zogan dots, some silver? Mark G

  12. Hi gang, I thought I would share some pics of my Suketoshi yari. The entire back edge of this su-yari is hardened. Some dumbass cleaned the tang a few years ago. Other than that, Flawless! I have some more pics too big to put up here if anyone would like to see them just mail me. Mark g

  14. That is a strange one for sure. In these last pics, It looks more like a deep scratch. I guess it is possable that it is some kind of welding flaw??? What age is the sword?? mark G
  15. Well that sucks! Do you think my castle scene F&K were cleaned in that way as well? Mark G
  16. Hi Bojan, Are you sure that is a Ware, or kizu, it doesn't look open in any way to me. I'm a bit more worried about that big crack looking thingy in your first pic. Or is that just a big scratch??? The Ware looks just like a dark line to me. Mark G
  17. Nothing to be afraid of bro, Like I said, I don't know poo about fittings. Still nice art work though. The art on some of these tiny things is just amazing. Here is my best set. I'm pretty sure these are a match. Mark G
  18. I guess that could be so. here is the back side. Looks like some sort of daisy flower added in there also. Mark G

  20. Geeze, In my close up pic I see a bit if copper rust going on. What do I need to clean these up with?? Thanks for any help! Mark G
  21. Hi Guys, Here is my one nice Shishi F&K. I don't know squat about fittings, What do you guys think. Mark G
  22. Stephen, Retempering would likely open the crack more. The Steel could be chopped up and reforged into a new sword. I know some people that have done this to dead swords. But Retemper will not fix a crack. Mark G

    Wazamono

Guido, Great info bro. So you have done the reaserch, What do you think about the ranking? Bragging rights. or sword dealer/maker profits??? Mark G
  24. My thoughts are, that this was a sword made for a Lady. Sharp enough to kill, yet small enough to be kept in your sleve. JMHO Mark G
