  1. Hi Yogoro and Jim, One the same as this was on the very good site the Silk Road a couple of years ago with a box with hakogaki by Dr Toriogoye and I was told that it was bought by someone in the KTK. It looks the same one to me as I discussed it at length with an other Tsuba collector,a definite bargain at that price http://www.silk-road.us/tsuba.html Alan
  2. Hi All, this is really a question that can be answered by Ford Hallam or one of the other tsubako's. Really nice tsuba though in mint condition making it even more appealing regards Alan
  3. Be careful Baz , those two blokes over there will sell you anything I've been told they've got wooden Tsuba as well and don't take any wooden dimes off them. Alan
  4. Hi all, none the less a very good call from Justin are you making good Tsuba friends in the land of the Pommies ? Bests Alan.

  15. Hi there Anti, the rust on your tsuba only looks very light around the inside of the rim and would not require much work at all. I would not use horn at this stage but give a tooth brush a crew cut so that it is stiff and go to work on the rust with a little of some sort of anti rust oil and just remove this with a soft cloth. On the other question about females, I have met a few and I met my partner Sue through swords. Alan.
  16. Thank's Pete, I fixed it. AL
  17. Hi Matt, Really nice and rare peice. Give us the background of how you found and recognised this sword, I've been collecting since the 70's and have not seen one. Alan.
  18. Piers, the Token Society, but I would start with Clive Sinclair he's a very good man and knows every body Alan.
  19. Hello Michael, its a nice Kyo Sukashi tsuba in good nick You might get lucky and find one on ebay for $400 but you would have to give a lot more if you found one in the hands of dealer and certainly more in Japan. regards Alan.
  20. Justin, make a point of it , the mumei blade is rather unique either Koto or made to look old, could be any one Sadakazu???. Also the Red wine might run out those people in WA, I forget their names except RT are buying it by the barrel . Best Al
  21. Hello Justin, I just recently got the Gassan Sadamitsu katana back from polish and it is stunning and faultless and full of hataraki but no ayasugi hada. Yamato tradition masame hada and because of the condition before polish I would of sworn back and blue it was deado the same as the one he made in the Gassan Tradition for the Boston Museum but without the horimono. The Sadamitsu and Sadakatsu and unpolished Mumei Gassan? are here for your comparison on your next visit to Sydney Regards Al
  22. HI Klaus, I think if you look in Shin Shinto Nihon to Koza page 408 Kajhei Gimei of Kiyomaro you will find the real maker of your Korekazu, Kajhei (Hosada Naomitsu), his way of chiseling mei is a dead ringer for the one on your sword. I just recently deliberately bought a gimei Kotetsu that I thought was an excellent sword even though a fake by Kajihei and have sent it off for repolish in Japan regards Alan
  23. Hello there Thierry, Thank you for sharing your collection good stuff Regards Alan
