  1. I was browsing through eBay when I saw this Wakizashi listen for only $590 USD. The seller was quite reputable "Antique Sakura" with no negative feedback and lots of sales. I instantly purchased the item and they confirmed the sale with a message a few minutes after. However, this is a shockingly low price like a scam low price, but the seller offers 2 months of return and is backed by eBay's authenticity guarantee. What can you guys tell me about the sword? Did I get the deal of a lifetime or did I just get scammed?
  2. I dont have any information to contribute, but I would like to say beautiful sword!
  3. Thank you so much! I will do more research into the things you mentioned. I paid $430 for the blade. It came with shirasaya but the saya was split down the middle but I repaired it yesterday with rice glue and it looks good as new. Do you have any particular books you recommend purchasing? I am new to this hobbie and would like to become more knowledgeable.

    New wakizashi

I just recently purchased this wakizashi for a pretty low price. Wondering what you can tell me about it. The wakizashi is about 21 inches long and is unsigned. I will soon post pictures of the nakago but the shirasaya is quite difficult to remove.
  5. If this is still for sale, shoot me a DM and we can discuss price
  6. There are no dark spot peaks along the hamon
  7. Thank you guys so much for the help! Do you guys know if the sword would have been made traditionally? I know most gunto were not but around 10% were still forged traditionally. Also, do the parry marks along the spine of the blade indicate battle use? If so what would this be worth?
  8. I have no idea who the smith is and I'm getting very contradicting answers from some personal research I've done, the sword does seem to have been used in some sort of altercation as there are multiple pary markings along the spine of the blade.
