To fix the menuki without tsuka ito, traditional glue is made using pine resine (matsuyani) with charcoal.
If you post photo of your set, I am sure that someone will be able to tell you the correct orientation

I got a tsuba with same technic and same theme, but no hitsu ana. I think it is Awa shoami.

As far as I know, there is not so many tsuba been in fire and it is not an old restoration technique.
Traditional japaneses houses are in wood, so very sensitives to fire due to accidents, wars, ...

Yes, the 2nd year of Tenna is 1682 and it is absolutely not a Chinese fake but a real and nice Japanese wakizashi.
Looks to bne quite decent and in good polish.
