Hello,
Just to give you an update on my project.
I found a nice bleu fabric
I made the bottom floor for a tsuba and I am now doing a tosogu set floor.
Few pics to show you the first results.
Well, seems I make a mistake !
There is the index for the "Toso Kodogu Meiji Taikei" and I am looking for "Toso Kodogu koza".
That's what explain why I saw only 3 volums in the index.
So back to starting point
I would really appreciate if someone could sent me his copy by email and/or publish it in the board ?
Many thanks
Sébastien
Hello,
Many thanks Ken and Grey
I found the index in the Article tab. Post "book indexes"
If someone is looking for it :

There is indeed the index for Toso Kodogu Meiji Taikei. However, seems this is only for the 3 first volums.
Hello,
Seems there is an English index that exist for this set, but I don't know if it is a translation of the whole books or just a translation of the index.
Does someone has more information ?
I may be also interested by a copy, do you know where we could find this index and/or have more information on it ?
Thanks
Sébastien
Hello,
Many thanks for the tips.
For the moment, I have nothing except the box. I need to buy the fabric and the wood. Then I could start to work on it.
I will share the progression on the board hoping that the result will not make me ashamed
Sébastien
Many thanks for all the advices.
I now see which kind of fabric I need to found.
I will go near Montmartre, there is a many fabric shop with a huge choice. Otherwise I found a retailer of Japanese fabric in Paris, le Marais area.
I know basalte, I used it in aero-modelism when I was young.
I enclose pics to share my project with you.
Yesterday I found this box in a shop. Very cheap 2.49€ ($2..
It is made of paulownia and measure 11.5 cm square (same as my tsuba box) and 10cm tall.
I would like to create stages for at least 3 tsuba and/or maybe for fuchi kashira.
Just to give you an idea, the tsuba Inside is 8.5 cm diameter.
Hello Franco,
Thanks for the confirmation.
I already looked a these tuto that are precious documentation.
Just one question, the custom shape of the tsuba is done in wood.
What about for a fuchi kashira ?
Wood also or cardboard or a kind of polystyrene ?
Thanks
Sebastien
Hello,
At first glance I wondering if it wasn't a cast copy.
With new photo, I don't see cast line, but for sure, it is not pre edo.
I think it is more a late edo item. Maybe a shoami tsuba with a Kinai inspiration
Regards
Congratulation to Barry, sure he will enjoy this wonderfull jigane.
A huge thanks to Ray to support the NMB, promote the nihonto study and offer such opportunity to all members !
I see already once these kinds of menuki that are pinged.
I think there are quite uncommon. Usually we see metal menuki with a screw.
Compare to traditional mekugi or screw, I an not sure these one are the best way to fit the tsuka as the one I saw were a bit loose.
Unless I mistaken, you could apply for hozon and TH in the same session.
Regarding the kozuka, the works look goto : the horse, the nanako and the scratches on the back. I cannot said if gimei or not but at least, for me, it is a goto school item.
