So I have another sword I need help translating.. Unfortunately the signature is very hard to read for me, i tried to copy it the best I could and write it down on paper. If anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

But on this sword, people have come to the conclusion that it is Showa and not traditionally made?

Thank you both! I got a chance to see a Tachi at the last show... It was an amazing thing to hold, it had a Orikaeshi-mei, which was the first I have ever seen.

I really couldn't have said it better myself. I would have loved to attend this show.. It really is sad to hear that the attendance wasn't great.. Too many young people these days going to Anime conventions and junk like that instead of trying to learn anything!

I tried looking this signature up in John Sloughs book, the characters are too erratic for me to find a match just by trying to match characters.. I looked the tang stamp up in Military swords of Japan, the closest thing I could find to that stamp was Kanezane.. But cross referencing the stamp in Sloughs book it doesn't match at all. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks guys!

eBay has become a trash market anyway. Any reputable sellers/dealers are advised to leave eBay as soon as humanly possible. Also ditch paypal, visit http://www.paypalsucks.com If you use paypal. This thread is a perfect example of the crap eBay WANTS on their website for sale. 2000 pages, 200 listings per page of fake swords coming from China.

Sorry to hear about your son, a similar thing happened to me in a baseball accident a few years back! Needless to say it cost a good bit of money and now have a half fake tooth up front! I thought I bit a chunk of the baseball haha :lol: About the wak, if the hamon and the blade shape are still intact then people on this board might be able to give you information/date so you wouldn't need to carbon date it.
