  1. Thanks, that’s incredibly interesting, first time I’ve seen a nihonto with that sort of breakage, you can almost see the layers, that would be quite the show piece
  2. I’ll get back with more pictures, specifically of the back of the nakago, probably tomorrow, thanks for your comments (hope this picture helps some)
  3. Well I’m no expert, but if it was shortened, it would have been from the backside, as the kissaki still has an intact hamon, I checked the back of the nakago, and the patina seems consistent, if it was shortened it may have been early in its lifetime?
  4. Better picture of hamon
  5. Nakago
  6. Better picture of habaki
  7. Habaki
  8. Another picture of hada
  9. Second mekugi-ana
  10. One of the two mekugi-Ana
  11. Polishing marks under habaki, I’d greatly appreciate it if someone could help identify the polisher
  12. It is a mumei ko-wakizashi, 1 shaku 1 sun (13.6 inches) in a shirasaya it is in good polish and is more beautiful than my pictures can do it justice, the attached picture is to show the hada and a small bit of the hamon, I have more and I will attach them
  13. I have a mumei wakisashi with polish marks under the habaki and the kissaki, the polish is beautiful, next time I get it out I’ll be sure to count them up
