  1. Going to send it in for shinsa as soon as I can. The sword's sayagaki highlights that the sword originally had origami from Hon'ami Nariaki, but those seem to be lost to history. Until I can send for shinsa, I've been using comparisons of the same mei on museum and shrine swords, alongside comparisons of the hamon, hada, and measuremenrs of other swords to make a judgement. As soon as I can, the sword will be sent for a polish and judgement.
  2. After some time, I was finally able to get my hands on a kodachi (yay!) and I'm excited to show it!
  3. I see. He appears to be the 12th generation appraiser.
  4. Sorry if this would be a bother, but my sword must have lost its origami from Nariaki over the years. Could you tell me a little about him? I'm familiar with the earlier Hon'ami, alongside Koson onwards, but his name escapes me. Thank you so much!
  5. Thank you so much! Anything on the first one?
  6. Recently I got my hands on a koto sword in shirasaya with sayagaki from Hon'ami Nishu (recognized the kao marking), but I've only been able to translate bits and pieces of the sayagaki. I would deeply appreciate any assistance on translating the sword's sayagaki, sending what I could not translate myself. Thank you so much to everyone on here! Sincerely, Zoglet
  7. So recently I found a seller selling an Inro Ojime Meiji period netsuke Teppo with what seems to be A kamon with a Five claws motif with a horizontal line in the middle in gold damascene. Can anyone expound on the meaning of this Mon, as I wasn't able to find any prior information in my research. I appreciate this forum's time and effort. Zoglet
