  1. Hello, Checking in, have been doing some research on this Mei "Kanesada" with addition of the Kouson but does this seem like it is what it purports to be on several levels, ie the Kinzogan Mei and Kouson papers? I know the old Kanteisho is not a good indicator of legitimacy. Have been searching the Mei for other examples but have been having a difficult time searching.
  2. Just looking for any second opinions on If there is anything suspicious or in-authentic of this kanteisho and the translation of the smith. Thanks, Taylor
  3. Thank you for the comments and assisting with my intuition on this one. Indeed I believe the strokes and flow of the kanji I have compared with don't align quite exactly thus far and the fact that it seems often be faked, here are some more photos upon request. Not my photos, hard to discern quality in these photos.
  4. Hello, I am curious on thoughts of this being gimei or not, I'm leaning towards it being so based on my research. If anyone is more familiar with this smiths Kanji I'd love to know your thoughts. The seller claims it is authentic to the style of the smith purporting to be Inoue Shinkai. Thanks.
  5. Hello, If anyone can kindly assist with who the NBTHK attributes this yari to and if there is any other pertinent information included? From what I can gather maybe Shigetaka, 1st generation? Thanks, Taylor
  6. Hello, I have been attempting to find examples for the Mei of this smith to compare without much luck -bishū junin mitsushige saku: https://nihontoclub.com/smiths/MIT235 Any resources would be appreciated, Thanks, Taylor
  7. Hello, I am curious on the translation and if thought to be gimei, also anyone have any knowledge of what is going on at the top of the nakago, I see what looks like may have been a flower? Thanks, Taylor
  8. Thank you!
  9. If anyone could be so kind to translate? Also thoughts on authenticity of the mei? Thanks!
  10. I know that the bottom character is mitsu but everytime I check the first one it doesn't match Kane for what I can find... I understand that this might read Kanemitsu? Would I be correct, there were so many sword smiths by the name Kanemitsu it's hard to even figure out which one it might be.
  11. So this would be seki and not regarded as a Gendaito correct? I did not find a seki stamp.
  12. Hello, I have another Tang I am curious to decipher if anyone can kindly assist. I have not been able to figure this one out. Thanks,
  13. Thanks guys!
  14. Hello, I am curious to find out if possible what the translation on this blade is? I know it has a seki stamp and I am unable to identify the top character? All I can figure out is "Sadamitsu River" ? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
