  1. I know this is old but I’m just starting and any tips will help, how can you tell that the fittings were made by Suya sword shop?
  2. In researching the type 95 sword, I’ve seen that most collectors agree that the highest serial numbers only run into the mid 300,000s. And that’s generally what I’ve seen looking around even on sold archives on various sites. It raises the question, who specifically was issued an NCO/allowed to carry a Gunto of any sort? I can imagine there were more sergeants of any specialty than swords available at any point during the production run. I guess to simplify, would it be limited to MPs, senior sergeants and the lower ranks in specific arms like infantry? Or say, could an army veterinarian be issued one as well?
  3. Original pictures didn’t really do it justice. As a bonus, the blade is still Arsenal sharpened. Original post photos were while I was awaiting shipment from the Ruptured duck.
  4. This is the only good picture I could get from the Reddit post. I found said post while researching the serial numbers on my example. I wanted to see if my eye is good at catching fakes at all. This one looks good at a quick glance. But the manufacturer stamps, stamp on the blade and bohi all look wrong. Same with the menuki and the paint. If it is indeed fake, I feel sorry for the person and am considering contacting them. As I know these things are pretty expensive.
  5. Recently purchased this late pattern Type 95 NCO sword. The markings on the fuchi are too faint to read at all. Any help would be appreciated.
