Learned about Japanese sword culture in general, including repairing, crafting, and appreciating Japanese swords under his father, Yoshida Masao (swordsmith with the name Masaaki (first generation))

After his father passed away, he trained as a swordsmith under his uncle, Ohno Masami (swordsmith with the name Kanemasa) and learned Japanese sword forging and production techniques

His skills were recognized and he obtained the qualification of a former swordsmith as set by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.

Selected to exhibit at the New Swords Exhibition and New Small Pieces Exhibition. He has continued to win awards ever since.
• 2006
Selected for the Omamori Sword Exhibition, which began this year, and has continued to win awards ever since.
• 2008
After the death of his master craftsman and uncle, Kanemasa Kenryu, the name was changed to "Kanehisa."
