Hello Dale, thank you for your advice. I really liked that composition to me it seem like painting on tsuba. Its really hard to judge quality for me as a newbie. Also those gold details really attracted my attention. Now I have a slight idea of what I would like to collect and its something like scenery picture depicted on tsuba for now. Thank you again for comment. Jiří

First of all thank you very much for your kind words I was afraid that I wasn't prepared enough for my question. Dirk thank you for translation I will definitely look it up. Darrel I will. Thank you. I quickly look at it and he have wonderful tsubas but most of them are way above my budget. Grev that tsuba is for sale for really long time and I had eye on it and I really like it but now I have my doubts. Maybe I don't have good taste. Jean thank you very much. That tsuba is way more expensive than 50 euro so I think I will pass thank you. I tried to find tsuba on our local market which is not full of Chinese replica but on the other hand there is only 30 tsubas listed right now in my country. Grey thank you for your advice. I think I will spend few more month studying whats here on forum and maybe after some time the right one will come up I am really grateful to all of you so thank you. That tsuba is listed for 150-180 euro (+-conversion) so now I think tsubas here are really overpriced. Jiří

    First Tsuba

Dear members, I am looking through this forum for few month and now I get courage to join this great forum and to start my own collection. I am looking for an advice because I would like to avoid big disappointment from first purchase and also its not cheap buy. I really tried to figure out if that tsuba is genuine I browse through web and this forum to find information that can help me determine it. From what I red Nakago on the the bottom should be horizontal and shouldn't be into V shape so that's good sign for me and cast tsuba should have some rim inside Kozuka and also I should have been able to see some bubbles on surface so I believe that this tsuba is genuine but I really want validate my opinion with experienced collectors. If I misunderstand any of that advises please correct me. Seller provide that tsuba with this info: PERIOD: Edo DIMENSIONS: 70 mm x 67 mm x 4 mm NAKAGO: 28 mm x 7 mm ( thickness 4 mm ) Any feedback is much appreciate. I hope this tsuba will be wonderful start of my collection. PS: English is not my native language so forgive me any bad wording that can cause misunderstanding. Thank you in advance Best regards, Jiří
