Asking because I don't trust online dealers and only know about there being gun shows and pawn shops.

I have checked through the "Japanese sword index" already and I am wondering if there is any other things that might tell me if it is real or fake i.e. markings, serial numbers, and other things that might signify if it is fake or not. Reason for needing this is that I am planning on buying one for historic value.
