  1. How much you ask for this nice piece?
  2. It’s a ko 32" the finger loop is broken. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was refurbished/ or it’s a late version because there is a finish on the blade (see pic) and on the scabard.
  3. I recently bought this nice type 32 and I was wondering if someone knows something about the marking on the guard. Also Is it possible to date this kind of sword. I know that type 32 where made between 1899 and 1935, but is it possible to precise the date. Serial num: 025545 Type: ko 39" long

It’s an interesting subject. Do you have photo of your collection? I know it doesn’t really have anything to do with nihonto but you got me interested.
  5. As you know there is a lot of variation when it comes to type 19 parade sword. This one seems to be of higher quality. It might be custom made for someone with more monney/or higher grade. Western style blade are possible on parade sword and I see some interresting thing like the « mouth » of the scabard that is different.
  6. Here, I hope it can help.
  7. Sorry I’m not home for 2-3 days for christmas so I can’t post better photos. I looked into it and it does look like the kanji for Norimitsu ( not that I know who it is?)
  8. I need help to translate the tang. All information about the maker would be appreciated. Thank you
  9. Yeah I looked hard for it. I'm glad to know another kyu enjoyer. I pray for you to find the sword your loooking for.
  10. It was list as "OLD Japanese Officer Sword KATANA SWORD" There is not a lot of kyu gunto's for sale online and most of them are overprice. Try variation like "Japanese ww1 officer sword", "Japanese officer sword" "russo Japanese war sword" I suggest you look in auction site and ebay. ( I was lucky because mine as a old sword so now I just need to find a nicer scabard)
  11. Online on Ebay. It's not easy to find a nice kyu not overprice but I'm satified with what i got.
  12. Exept missing 1 seppa, the fit is perfect. Thanks I might try to find a leather cover for it. Anyway now i'l try to find more about the blade
  13. It look like a piece would go at the end of the scarbard and is missing. + if anyone know Japanese a translation would be nice
  14. I recently bought this nice kyu gunto with what seems to be an old handmade blade in it. When I did my reserche on kyu gunto's, I never saw this kind of scabard. It's painted black and look like it's missing a piece at the end. Anyone know what it is? Maybe a late version, a shin gunto scabard or is it custom made? Any help on the subject would help. I will probably buy another scabard and handle because they have a lot of wear and I prefer how the normal scarbard look.(If somone as a extra one DM me)
