This spectacular Owari wakizashi was forged by Ujshige. It came out of the collection of the most knowledgeable Western collector of Owari. It has a gorgeous jigane, thickly covered with ji-nie and lots of chikei. It has a very bright gunome hamon in ko-nie. Perfect polish in shirasaya with a bullhorn habaki. It achieved Tokubetsu Hozon, but the papers were lost by a previous collector. I'm offering for sale this healthy, beautiful Koto Bizen Osafune wakizashi with an elaborately done Orikaeshi-Mei, a preservation method where the mei is folded to the other side when blade is shortened. The blade is in good polish, revealing much depth of activity as seen in the photos and videos. No papers, but it is still a very neat piece of history for an excellent price. I'm aware that one side reads Nagato no kami Fujiwara Ujishige, but I want to know what the other side reads (supposedly it's the title and town). Yes, I do know the tachi side for a mei ,for some reason I didn't think of that when I saw the photo. I have a resource that says Hosho Sadamune Tachi are almost nonexistent. I knew this was too good to be true, I will have to pass on this offering. Thank you for making me think.

Hello, A friend of mine offered to sell me a Tachi and I don't really know much about it, so I have questions and need some opinions. The blade originally came from a Japanese ebay seller "basara_jp," and I will link the original sales post for this blade below. I will also attach some pictures. The smith is supposedly Hosho Sadamune (Sadamune - SAD548 | Nihonto Club) who was a principal smith of the Yamato Hosho school. 1. Does this blade look Kamakura, or later? How tired does the blade look? My friend tells me it has no flaws, no rust, no kizu, or inclusions. Masame hada is very pronounced. 2. Nakago only has 1 mekugi ana; I'm surprised that the whole mei is still intact, so I'm unsure if it's been shortened or ubu. The nagasa is only 23.11" which seems short for a Tachi. 3. Does the mei look legit or gimei? 4. The koshirae is newer than the blade, and I was told it could be worth up to $4500. Opinions?
