  7. Has anybody got a link to to any uk sellers on ebay , auction only.
  8. It doesn't really effect the UK that much as all the smart sellers are listing swords outside of the sword categories so people in the UK can bid. You still have to get it through customs though, Or am i missing something
  9. HI, Jean. i didnt think it affected anybody outside the uk". Looks as though we are heading for a blanket ban, I wonder if affects diplomates.traveling from different countries.?
  10. I allso complained to ebay about this, as i get blocked from bidding on any type of blade. Stupid regulations made on the hoof to please the minority. :x
  11. I never seem to find anything that cheap.
  12. Well done henry , very interesting .
  13. HI Ted. As a comparatively newcomer on here ,I wish you all the best in the the future & thanks for putting up with my sometimes silly questions. Regards Ron.c.
  14. I agree, i could never understnd why a anakago is butchered in this way. Surely it is easy enough for a craftsman to use the original mekugi -ana!

  17. Thanks john, you are a scholar & a gentlman.
  18. I allways click on on the bid, usualy they are given a code if it is a private auction. that opens up the list of bidders, ...then you can click on each bidder & see where they are from. Hope this helps.
  19. Amazing skills
  20. John , here is a clearer image of the mei, that was difficult to read, its from the small sword, of the daisho above.
  21. Hi ted, it was on the smaller pair of daisho.i couldn't afford it at anyway,£5080. for the pair. Not on my pension.
  22. Hi ian, that is news to me, ...how about customs though?
  23. HI Ron, I could say a lot about the way the uk is going, but in wont !...seeing that it is not a political forum. But i know what you mean.
  24. I find it frustrating with the uk ban on swords on ebay. I have been collecting edged weapons since i was a lad, some fifty odd years, With the advent off ebay, it gave everyone a chance to have ago at bidding, instead of paying inflated prices from dealers. Now i cant even bid on any weapons on ebay. This blanket ban on all weapons on ebay if you live in the uk. Even if it a couple of hundred yers old, is badly thought out. I have complained to ebay about this, but have not had a reasonable answer from them.I thought the law when changed stated that if you were a serious collector,it would not affect us. Ebay doesn't seem give a toss about us , or cant be bothered to sort out the wheat from the chaff :x
