  1. Thank you all for the kind words! It is a great feeling to read the positive comments.
  2. This looks to be a 1985 NBTHK Hozon paper that attributes a katana as a Naminohira school work. Early Hozon papers had oshigsta rather than photos of the nakago. In hand, the paper should have the water mark logo and micro kanji of "ni" "to" 'ho" as precaution against fake papers. Mumei Naminohira is not a popular attribution for malefactors to contrive. Naminohira works often have clear kantei points.

  12. Nice looking FK. I notice that the ana has been re-sized at some point and it now overlaps the mei as one would expect. (mei placement seems correct ) A senior student once shared with me that this can be a factor in conveying a good feeling about the originality of a mei. Below is a Hamano FK for reference. The manner of takabori used for the shako tree seems similar. Best of luck at shinsa ! http://www.nihontocraft.com/Hamano.html Best regards, Danny

  20. Hi John, Thank you for sharing additional information about your Ko-Mihara. It sounds very nice. I tend to be attracted to blades that are function focused and not flamboyant. Best regards, Danny
  21. HI John, Thank you for your feedback. Ko-mihara are often wonderful. Lucky you :-) Does yours have a tiger tail or waterfall return to the boshi ? High Shinogi ? Yamato style hataraki in the hamon ( uchinoke, hakikake and nijuba ) Nioi deki with ko nie ? Just curious and its fun to apply our leaning to blades at hand. Thanks Best regards, Danny
