  1. Ya, alot of people play the State lottery too. Some people win in Las Vegas. If someone has all that "time" and "experiance" please get your kicks. *Komonjo - I don't play Nihonto Ebay and it only took a few to figure out who this "dealer" is.

  2. You have to understand the ergonomics of those times. There was none. If a procress wasn't painfull, it wasn't worth doing. When I look at older smiths work an mei, this is a thought. Who was really doing the work?
  3. Yep, I agree completely with that logic. Looks like it's close enough either to be a professional counterfeiter, or authentic.
  4. たくさんのお金を払いました Takusan no okane o haraimashita Yasutoomuch$
  5. And there you go Now that I think about it, I'm sure the Bokken was taken away from me. That wasn't one of my best ideas.
  6. About 38 years ago I dressed --up as Ninja for a Halloween party, got drunk and lost my wooden sword.
  7. The word became Bastardize via Commercialism and it only took a few hundred years.
  8. I think Dr. Robertson took a couple of my suggestions way back and gave a Nihonto 101 class. Don't know why but It died on the Vine as we say. Another was for table holders to post an inventory before so people knew who you were and what you had making thinks a lot easier. Allways making sure the Mekugi wasn't left out, or is in all the way is a smart inspection before handling EVERY sword. Oh, I seen what damage a polished sword will do.
  9. I wouldn't be dissapointed with the lack there of photos and information. These "sword shows" are not only obsecure, but not really promoted outside it's own very small demographics. Unlike a gun show you really don't want to be around anyone who isn't proficient in handling a 2ft razor blade. In Japan they have PVC posts to prevent side-to-side movement and saftey.
  10. This has been around for a lonhg time and IS very accurate, Naginata used to be collected at a 35% premium. and have no idea what happen.
  11. So, one can score a Sengo Masashige on the cheap just by asking questions and understand what you're looking at via ebat. Wow
  12. Yep, it's been a long time since I read about this. From what I remember the swords were all switched out for commons. Happens a lot at museums .
  13. Could be from a Naginata, really interesting size cut.
  14. Ah sarcasm, why consult with me, Im not her professor. Maybe you can help make sence of this and add some valadity. Someone wasn't "paying" attension in statisics class. S= Z2 × P × (1−P)M2 What's the number (S) for American Collectors. It should be simple for a Harvard Grad spending $120K for a Masters Thesis. BTW Harvard is a Hedge Fund with a education facility attached.
  15. Really? S= Z2 × P × (1−P)M2 What's the number (S) for American Collectors. It should be simple for a Harvard Grad spending $120K for a Masters Thesis.
  16. Pge 64. "Aggregate Data for Study Participants The aggregate demographics for the twenty participants are included below. Information gathered from these participants is also broken down into participant birth decade, the type of event that inspired the participants’ interest in swords, as well as which decade this exposure took place in order to see a trend in exposure types. Other 64 questions that the data were coded for include: understanding the Japanese swords as art." I saw Harvard and almost spit my morning coffee up. Way too small for sample participants.
  17. Looks like the sword WAS POLISHED around it. Also, Looks cool to me, but I go for that kind of thing.
  18. The price is what we call crazy money. The seller sets the price so high *but really doesn't want to sell. If someone wants to pay the crazy price well...... Besides, Yen is .69 today.
