  1. Someone posted a few days ago TH swords wouldn't go for those prices. Looks like you did very well.
  2. Crazy projects? I see a Square Ruler. Get a white board and and apply some Golden Ratio Geometry before heating and pounding. Arm length, cutting position, weight, length, ect.
  3. Rivkin, You must be looking at better - other photos than I. or have better eyes, Can't see much, The Mei doesn't look like some hack job which makes it close.
  4. This is "authentic" fun
  5. I wonder what the original length was?
  6. I don't like to make jugement at all from photos, but the blade doen't appear muromachi period. Who am I to say the The friendly people at the Tozando store are off by a few hundred years.
  7. It most definitely puts a person who is treasure hunting in a very bad position.
  8. Many Moons ago I ran into this collector who was a automotive paint and body owner out of New Mexico. Did some great work.
  9. Use the search tool if in doubt. Low ball price low ball sword
  10. Maybe not and maybe so. With the Yen so deflated against the American $ and very obscure hobby being what it is. I wouldn't bet Tokubetsu Hozon holding any future value. Sorry, but that's general economics and not me talking.
  11. Museums attract top griffters for a plethora of reasons, much like churches and any NPO. Did they take you out to dinner yet? There is one born every minute and two on Sundays,
  12. You may have something there, it's authentic and old. Too scratched up for any ID.
  13. Well, just starting with the elementary. Looks like you didn't have a new Habaki made, so you didn't have a new Saya? That's a problem with a new polish and going on the cheap,
  14. Exactly! If not for participating in a described war. When need be the Samurai were a violent bunch, but favored the art of peace.
  15. Elliot Freeman talks about barrels of swords for sale and owning a Muramasa. Check out his collection which shown.

  16. "Sesko has 5 generations in Etchu from 1317 to 1501." Yep, I'd want my money back for that information.
  17. With all the Gimei I've seen, very very few I would consider actual forgeries. Art forgeries are masterful copys which are intended to fool experts. These look like they weren't intended to fool anyone. meaning something else.
  18. Yep, those are some true words. I have no idea why this is still happening in this market.
  19. Don't enter into any math, or economic contests. It started in 2011, but don't tell anyone. It's a secret that even AOI admits too.
  20. The Japanese markets in general is way-way down, thus the sword market. If buyers want to pay top dollar for a sword that's their problem. If a seller wants to hold onto swords which hasn't appreciated for the last 20 years, that's their problem. I see opportunity and not problems.
  21. AH,,,,,Now someone is speaking business. That is 100% correct.
  22. You were provided good information on how to learn more before jumping. In place of asking more detailed questions you seem to wonder onto others of your own. If a season collector is willing to sharpen your questions by suggesting education (books) , your next question should be "what books"??? Many people want either free information, or they're shilling for someone. Very few want to take the time and learn. If you don't want to be taken advantage of ( you will ) I suggest learning.
  23. The crest on the Saya is about as far as YOU can get concerning information about purchasing ths sword. Something isn't adding up with this story. winner winner chicken dinner
  24. You're right, all the people who bave caused me harm all my life ahould be forgiven. Love, hugs and kisses for everyone....... Sarcasm
  25. Going way-way back, think we came up with a one off Navey rope cutter.
