  1. It must be pretty slow out there for people pushing Auction Houses. If in doubt one can always use search.
  2. Guns N Roses Welcome to the jungle. I was at a SF sword show when this young guy yells out he had $10K and wanted to buy a sword. It looked like the scene from the movie Blade when the blood starts flowing out of the fire sprinklers and all the Vampires show fang.
  3. You wouldn't want to run in the jungle with fresh meat hanging out of your pockets. It's sort of like that.
  4. Hope you aren't buying the papers. "Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword), dated July 17, 1976" See the price in the upper right - That plus all the fees is the "reserve price".
  5. Use the imagination of this sword being in much better shape. This video received over 1.2M views.
  6. A nice marketing term "recreation" for deception. The price is only what someone is willing to spend.
  7. Has anyone else noticed the plague of poor quality and outright fakes coming out of the woodwork as of late. I guess the desperation of the times has really picked up.

  9. For some reason editing special effects have been doing this since I was a kid. Don't know where it came from.
  10. If you haven't seen, held and shown the difference between an experts polish and "others", you're not going to understand. Internet keyboard Nihonto has its limitations. Those are just the facts, I didn't make them up. or is it "Makeup".
  11. Obviously your going to sell the sword after polish, or why do it at all for Iaido. Where did you get those photos from?
  12. It works good on TV anyway and in sales books. The general public is not sophisticated enough to understand the sales processes. The sword market is filled with Sharks because it's an emotional purchase. I have to have it and right now is NOT a good position to be in.
  13. I see it's in $ and not in Yen. Which Komonjo is the seller. Japan, or Berkley, or L.A. ? Ah... it's Komonjo Japan
  14. Someone will buy it for $300 and be asking if they paid to much. This vicious cycle could last decades.
  15. Looking at your new photos I can see some resemblance of a Sori which "may" make your blade a Ko- The Ko-Wakizashi featured a blade measuring between 1 shaku (30.3 centimeters) and 1 Shaku 5 Sun, which equates to 45.54 centimeters. The Chonin class or commoners of feudal Japan were able to wear swords of this length. This either muddies the water, or makes it more clear.
  16. Here is a link http://www.japaneses...ndex.com/nihonto.htm for you to study. This is just a start, and the 10,000 exceptions.
  17. Me too, but what do I know over a Flea Market dealer. Once again, does anyone ever read all the good Newbie articles before posting? People spend a lot of time writing them.
  18. Wakazashi ?
  19. This is what I refer to as a You have to give recognition to this seller. This person has been around for a long time playing games. If only buys asked about those treasures before buying and not after.
  20. Looks Shinto, but that could be from the photos.
  21. That was interesting, anything about Nanban Tsuba in your research?
  22. Aesthetics vs Functionality as in geometric unity vs guess worlk.
  23. Cole had one of the 1st web sites out of CA that I can remember. The old days of my 1mg high speed but slow speed dial-up eeeeeek.
  24. I've never seen a newspaper saya, however I've seen Japanese newspaper INSIDE Saya.
  25. He, a giant of a man must be 244cm in hight.
