  1. I would like to thank Mark for taking the time to meet with me, teach me more about the sword, and provide me more knowledge about what I have in my possession. I would agree with what Mark stated about this sword and have taken necessary steps to try an preserve it the best I can at this time.
  2. Thanks!

  7. Hello, I posted this sword into the WW2 section but was informed it could be older than that time frame. I was hoping to find out more about the sword. Below is a link to all the photos I currently have of the sword. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0uP4lBdtNdXexcdA6dxRuOoYw Thanks in advance!
  8. So I was able to zoom in and get some better photos of the signature and the whole sword. https://share.icloud.com/photos/02ilGyuBmQDjwkLUSafS9BW2g
  9. Great to know! It also looks like the saga is made from wood or something similar. I will try to get photos of these items soon.
  10. When you say a picture of the whole sword without the fittings, you mean with all the handle gear off?
  11. Do recommend me using something to try and clean up the area where the signature is or leave it alone and do my best? If so, what do you recommend me using?
  12. I will try to get better photos of the signature. Can you explain what the meguki ana is, I am not familiar with all the parts of a Japanese sword.
  13. Well, got it off! Very little force needed to be applied. This link provides some photos of the chips or nix in the blade and the handle. https://share.icloud.com/photos/02YaoMJrIAqGrOT1cl2Jwpumw
  14. Would I be able to use a rubber mallet to tap the tsunami and try to get it off? I also found a few dings in the blade but I am unsure how to get a high quality photo of them.
  15. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0QtZCp0TZAIRVbRXTiqMGrM7w can you open them with this link?
