  1. ahh. memories. lol i still have this sword with old papers, still loving it as is.
  2. hi Larry, that's a beautiful sword, congrats! I'll zip my mouth up for a while. CJ
  3. Hi Jacques, i've been thinking just like that, that's why i told a joke about o-wazamono in original thread.. to be perfectly honest with you guys, i'm just extremely happy for what i've paid. whatever the mei or origami says, i got this healthy blade (with some "potential" extra cool features) with very limited budget- could't be happier. ...and may be i just want to get the 2009 origami which has my name on it... regards, CJ
  4. Hi Mark G, my answer to your question is pretty simple: i just love this blade very much so i want to know everything about this one. i just heard some opinions that some old origami's are not that reliable. even the dealer who hooked me up said the exactly same thing. guys, please don't get me wrong. as a matter of fact, i know barely nothing about this sword which i fell in love, some of you gents here has "educated" eyes, but i only have the eyes of steel addict. also i have to mention that this blade gives me a fairly amount of joy-o-life. it looks so fabulous that it could take away almost every stress comming from my job or real life. i think that would be enough excuse for to get this guy a decent birth certificate. CJ
  5. thanks for all the comments, gents Mr. Guido Schiller, i would like to believe that this one is very nice Gimei until i get the new paper. May be i feel kinda bit defensive to talk about Mei because of my lack of knowledge. i read some articles about submitting NBTHK shinsa, i do agree that it would need careful consideration. at this point, i just want to know that who made this beautiful thing and how old is my new buddy, that's all for now. of course i would gladly wait for few month or more, i think that's the right thing for me to do next. oh yes, now i'm lurking for some nice fittings.. i'd really like to say thanks again to all NMB members and Admins.. with NMB board search, i don't even need a TV, maybe ten times better than google... regards, CJ
  6. okay, i just took some quick pics, those are lookin just a bit better than horrible.. it actually looks blueish grey under the sunlight in person, i've also seen some gold color during LED light inspection. i can't see any flaws, kizu's at all, minor scuffs and surface oxidations that is. it's very fat-so much of Niku- heavy sword. CJ
  7. Hello Guys, after dealing with some more newbie mistakes and throwing $$'s for expensive tsunagis, i've finally got lucky enough to own my first "decent" Nihonto. Mei reads "Sakakura Gonoshin Terukane". a Big name as you know, it also has NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho certs(1967). so i strongly believe that i've found O-wazamono!! -One Bad joke. anyways, i just love this beautiful work of forging art (IMHO), i still think this sword is too good for a Newbie. when everytime i draw this sword out of shirasaya, i always try not to shake my hand... i'm also thinking of sending this sword back to Japan and resubmit the Nbthk shinsa, i don't really expect such a fantastic shinsa result as shoshin, but i'm sure that would be a good experience for me. Thanks for looking, any comments would be appreciated. CJ
  8. Hi all, some gents here may remember my newbie mistake with Mr. Yamaguchi, aka Komonjo on Ebay. He'd taken care of my mistake very professionally, also refund process was fast, didn't cost me for anything. BTW, i've won 2swords from his auction recently. since i'm living in southern CA so we've arranged the local pick up, i've visited his place and picked up the swords by myself. Of course Mr.Yamaguchi had gladly given me a chance to see another swords on his Ebay acution, He also said EXACTLY same thing with what Brian just said about papers. now i'm very happy with my purchase, Mr. Yamaguchi is absolutely a straightshooter IMHO. CJ
  9. i just heard about his loss via email, may God Bless him & his family at this trying time.. he also took care of the mess that i've done, he charged me nothing... no nothing... shame on myself. thanks to all... DN CJ
  10. i don't really feel angry or displeased with this seller any more. i already asked him for forgiveness about my rude behavior, but he didn't get back to me yet. i know i made a mistake, have to cover that, learned the lesson. that's why im keeping my mouth (or fingers) shut. thanks for all the comments. DARN NEWBIE CJ
  11. thank you so much brian, i'd say live and learn... i'll call my self as a "DARN NEWBIE" for a while.. shame shame! DARN NEWBIE CJ
  12. hello there shan, thank you for your opinion. yes, i did on my own research on this but that was totally "BASED ON SELLER'S AD" so it was "Shigemitsu of BIZEN ", not the "Shigemitsu of Bingo". i think the "mistake in translation" is the MAJOR poor item description, especially for someone who can't be able to read Japanese or chinese letters like me. all of my research was based on provided item description, and found out that was not true, then what should i say. would you get the point? as far as i know, the name of bladesmith is kinda like a "brand name" in nihonto market. yes, i did something wrong, but obviously this seller did too. if this seller wants me to pay some kind of "cancellation fee" or whatever, i'd pay for it, i think that would be able to cover my mistake. my intention about this thread was, i just wanted to know what i bought, i didn't really wanted to bash on this Ebay seller or start something like bad seller warning. i even know that i can't. i'm really sorry if my thread made you uncomfortable, but i don't really want to discuss nothing more than the item. thanks for your time and absolutely no offence taken. i do really understand your point of view. to be perfectly honest with you, my heart says exactly same thing with you but my ca$h cold brain says "NO WAY" and hey, i do really want to make some friends here.... would you pm me how did you figure out this horimono is poor? to me, it just looks so cool.......... all the best, CJ
  13. mods, would you please move this thread to the right place? i guess i had posted in wrong spot. thanks! CJ

CJ
  15. thank you guys, no offence of harsh word taken. when everytime i tempt to purchase something, almost every ebay sellers are a bunch-o-birds of pray look alike. newbie's learning, now i could barely see the differences between Tact. knives market and Nihonto market. i just contacted with seller for a refund process. As I claimed for poor item description, i guess i have right to take my money back. let's see how it goes. and of course, i should be more careful on next purchase. shhhhh CJ
