Picked up a type 3 Star stamped sword yesterday blade is in bad polish .. mounts are in good condition will post pics later .. Just wondering if any one could help with the name on the tang ? mounts are not stamped but back of tang stamped with a number and a mark .. Thanks Gareth

Thanks Marc yes I was lucky to get this one the wrap as gone like leather from use and when I received it the sword was solid couldn’t get it apart ... A small time dealer got it from the family of the soldier named on the certificate . He didn’t want to sell it originlly when he got it ..

A leather hanger which originally came with this type 3

Managed to get the leather hanger wich originally was with this sword when it first whent to auction , The hanger attachment to the sword belt is painted in the normal Japanese field green paint . Some pics plus a image of a leather platted hanger exactly the same as mine being carried by a officer surrending his sword .
