    If you bid $150 I don't feel bad. I bid the same as well! Of course my bid didn't register. I appreciate all the replies. Really nice to hear from the more knowledgeable people here. This is why I try to ask here before I make stupid purchases. But at the same time I don't want to be a nuisance.

    I was watching one on eBay a while back, 29.5" blade, 41" overall I believe? Showato blade.

    It was just me and two other bidders. Here's the item#123672148946(on phone hard to post links) I am assuming it's a well known Smith. But I was not expecting it to sell for anywhere near that.

    Seller states it reads Izumi no Kami Kanesada. Comparing it to others I can't see it. Might just be me.

    I figured as much. I noticed the habakai, poor fittings, and the Ito was wrapped wrong. I politely told the seller when he first listed it yesterday. No reply of course, and I think he even added more to the description.

    I was worried about it after I bought. I figured my luck wasn't that good. I don't have the kind of money to blow on a real nice one, and I can't compete with the guys willing to Shell out hundreds of dollars on rusty mumei blades.

    I bought a Gendaito from "ajt.Japan" yesterday. He is now saying he doesn't have the sword and will be refunding my money. I have no doubts that this will be relisted for much more money in the future. This is Shady business in my opinion. Be Leary of this seller. -Logan-

    I just wanted to add this. I just picked up a gunto with this wrap. I do believe it is sharkskin. The skin is like little Barb's if you go against the grain.
