There is no value in wanting something looted(stolen) from a dead body. I'm sure seller is an idiot who thought adding a line like this make it worth more. But as I said, there is no way the story is true so bidding for it wouldn't hurt.

I can assure you that a soldier wasn't "wearing" this sword. Also the sageo(cord) is tied in samurai fashion. Nice fittings, late edo tsuba. Koshirae seems broken. But I would gamble this if I was living in the states..

Agreed, but there would be roughly 3k euros difference between gimei and real Unjū

Hey Adrian, I know you want it to be real but sadly it's not(it's probably a chinese reproduction). So you really don't have to spend time with more pictures and videos but refund it while/if you can

I might be wrong but this looks gimei to me. If you have the sword in hand please compare these two signatures. A bit hard for me to see from the picture. @Ray Singer would know better.
-
Looks fake..If you can ask for refund just do it.
-
It's a sunnobi tanto(ko-wakizashi)..Looks Bizen-ish..Is it signed? Papered?
-
You really shouldn't do that George Without seeing the whole package it's just guessing and it's not a healthy way to train your eyes. In your case, the picture doesn't really show anything..It might as well be a shinshinto or gendaito..

Looks Shoami to me..

Steve, Someone who has 1000 times more experience and knowledge than you sharing his opinion and this is your answer? If your answer was " Thank you for your reply but what make you think it's a Showato?" then you would be able to learn something! But you don't want to learn anything..You are simply narrow-minded!.. Don't get me wrong, I really don't care about your questions as they are waste of time to answer but I won't stay silent when you disrespect others... -

Flight of the Phoenix - Tsuba by Tadamasa?

Ok I think I solved it. Not %100 certain but this has something to do with Banzuke. (ranking list) East and West division...I circled Tadamasa with red on attached photo. Mei on the left also points "West" Markus has a great article about this..and probably the only English article about the subject. https://markussesko.com/2016/10/02/banzuke-番付/ -
