  1. I was wondering the same thing???? Charles L. Grusovnik aka goose710
  2. Gentlemen Why is it people will bid on a sword with three hagire and kosabi(rust)???? atributed to hokke saburou nobufusa gendai/showa era. a 50,000 yen auction now stands at 96,000 yen. i'm at a loss. in shirasaya yet no fittings to compensate. any thoughts? Charles L. Grusovnik aka goose710
  3. Thank You for that clarification , i was a bit lost on that one Charles L. Grusovnik aka goose710
  4. Thank you. I have the supposed value(bought for price) + any upgrades for each unit listed in my safe. I did this to give whomsoever must exicute my estate an idea of the values involved. I understand the fluctuations of the market(like right now). I like your idea of having a dealer on commission sell them makes sense, higher sale/higher commission= motavation. I also left a list of the people i bought them from, she could contact them and see if they could arrange a commission sale. That might work also. The nihonto is by no means the bulk of my estate, but as i said i'd hate to see them lost, or my wife taken advantage of. Could be i must make an effort to educate my wife better, but then she'll know how much i spent!!(kidding) Thank You again for your thoughts on this subject Charles L. Grusovnik aka goose710
  5. Gentlemen I have a not so ordinary question. As i've aquired nihonto ( 11 so far) and am getting up there in age, how would you suggest my wife, if she survives me(who knows less than me) handle disposal of my acumulated nihonto? She is incapable of caring for them, oiling them. They are not national treasures but, are not junk either. I'd hate to have them meet a bad end,ie rusted, or sold for next to nothing. would you care to list some reputable dealers? or maybe a course of action for her? if you find this post inapproriate delete. Charles L. Grusovnik aka goose710
  6. Gentlemen A better picture of my tuska it is copper/brass/a bit of silver/and i think steel. it came on a wak i bought from aoi art sword thought you might like a better pic charles l. grusovnik aka goose710
  7. Gentlemen How often are kosira like this seen? i've only seen one other (not that i have a great amount of experience) just curious, Charels L. Grusovnik aka goose710 The other
  8. Gentlemen I believe that's a Cheness Kaze tsuba, or knock off thereof Charles L. Grusovnik
  9. Gentlemen I was suprized to find it was signed! As requested here are a few more pictures If anyone off the top of their head can read it i'll be one happy camper. Is it odd that it is made of iron? Good or bad? Also how should it take care of it? lightly oil and wipe with a soft cloth? All advice is apreciated. goose710(aka Charles da gooseman)
  10. The kozuka is iron, was a add on from aoi art sword when i bought my latest. This is why i felt it had "little" value. I will take some more careful pictures as these were only an after thought. Thank You for your considerations goose710 (charles)
  11. A big thank you ! goose710
  12. Gentlemen I 've just gotten a kazuka with my latest sword purchase (Kazuka was free) and the blade is real rusty . Would i be committing sword sacralige in polishing the blade only??? I really don't think it is of any great value except to me. Your thoughts are greatly apreciated Thank You Goose710(da Gooseman
  13. Gentlemen As always you've made a newbe happy by treating him like one of you old-timers. I am grateful for all the info provided and can't say thank you enough. Stephen has asked for more pictures and here they are. I bought this katana as a mate to the wac pictured which is early muromachi mihara according to the papers. Please excuse my spelling as i was blind as a child and never learned to spell properly. Thank You Again Charles L. Grusovnik (AKAGOOSE710) Just got an e-mail from Mr "T" as follows ( you guys are good!!!) We sent the paper which is the Tokubetsu kicho estimation paper of the Bijyutu Nihon to hozon shinsa kai for your sword 08317. That paper was issued at December 8th 1979. The Bijyutu Nihon to hozon shinsa kai is not so famous Shinsa. They said that this katana is Mumei attribute as Hoshu Takada ju Fujiwara Nobuyuki. Best regards Kazushige Tsuruta Thanks again Goose710 (aka charles)
  14. Sir Nobody Thank you for your reply, as I thank all that replied. Forgive my ignorence but are you saying this organization's paper may be of little value? Also is this attributation known to any? I am sorry if i'm annouying you guys it's that i know very little about all of this stuff. I like the sword and don't really care if it's a treasure (probably not, infact sure it's not) I'm just intrquieged. Looked up that name on the web , failed to get anything . Please bear with me, if the paper haddn't been there i wouldn't wonder. Charles L. Grusovnik (AKA GOOSE710)
  15. Goldy AOI Mr. T never mentioned any papers with the sword, that's why i was suprized when i found them in the envleope. I too thought i'd contact him and ask. Thank You Charles L. Grusovnik (AKAGoose710)
  16. Stephen C. Ya nearly killed me with that china thing! But the meteorite thing was cool! Charles Grusovnik (aka Goose710)
  17. Gentlemen; I've never posted here before but have lurked for a few weeks now Might i say you have an excelent forum , very informative and helpful. I've just bought a katana from AOI and recieved it today. It came with a paper i don't understand. It was not mentioned in the sale, and i don't know the inportance of it. Can any one shed some light on it? is it a fake paper? and can anyone read it? Secondly, the blade came with a mark on the back side,in your opinion could this be a battle mark? That would be soo cool if it was! Thank You for any help Charles L. Grusovnik
