  1. https://www.aoijapan.net/katana-mumei-yamaura-kiyomaro/ https://www.aoijapan.net/wakizashi-mumei-den-kiyomaro/ Here are the Aoi Art links to the mentioned swords made by Kiyomaro
  2. Aoi has sold at least two mumei Kiyomaro blades in the past. One katana and one naginata naoshi wakizashi. Both are suriage and mumei. Both have hozon status.
  3. I see nothing but envy and resentment in your words, but that is okay: some collectors know these feelings in such situations. A prime example is Georg’s thread about his Masayuki. The majority supports the collector and his finding on the way to shinsa, but a small minority tries to blame a sword as gimei, only to get rid of their frustration and envy.
  4. Thank you, Brian.
  5. Thank you, Simon. I will send the wakizashi next year to Japan for a hozon shinsa. Perhaps I can even get a Tanobe Sensei sayagaki for a new made shirasaya.
  6. Thank you for the replies. These pictures were taken by Ray Singer, so I don‘t know which techniques he used. Ray sold me this wakizashi last year as a commission piece. He never owned it. This naginata naoshi doesn’t have a high class Japanese made shirasaya. The current shirasaya was probably made in the US. The polish is excellent and seems to be very old. I am quite sure this sword was not in Japan for a very long time.
  7. Thank you very much.
  8. Hello Gents, I want to share with you some pictures of my Kiyomaro mon naginata naoshi o wakizashi, which I bought last year from Ray Singer. Although it is mumei, it is a ubu sword with a nagasa of 51,5cm. The possibility that Kiyomaro himself made this great soshu den wakizashi is very high. A final attribution should be given by a NBTHK shinsa. I hope you enjoy. All the best
  9. I reduce the asking price to 6000€ or best offer. Besides I post directly some of Marco‘s great pictures, which can all be found in the above posted google link. All the best Stefan
  10. I am open for reasonable offers.
  11. Thanks to our fellow member Marco ( mareo1912 ), who made these great looking pictures, I can show that this Yasunori has a good old sashikomi polish, that especially highlights the hamon and other activities of this yasukunito. https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1gJSl1qIF7yngcW9LmUeUiPEWv2Rcb4Hy?usp=sharing
  12. To give an actual example for a nihonto related anime: the first episode of the third season Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba was released last Sunday in Japanese with English subtitles. The name of the current arc is to the swordsmith village. Some very aesthetic images of sword forging and other things related are shown quite accurate for a mainstream anime. In the first season they even show tamahagane. On the other side I am relatively sure most members here won’t like the anime that much, because off its sense of humor. I love the manga and the anime even more, so perhaps it will have a positive impact on the nihonto community, especially for the younger ones.
  13. Some of Ed‘s pictures showing the hada and the condition of the current polish.
  14. still available
  15. Here are more pictures showing the current state of polish.
  16. Thank you, Volker.
  17. Okay, now I understand your point. The ubu-ba is not there, so the Yasunori was repolished. This second polish was in my opinion done before the end of WW2. My conclusion is that this Yasukunito was carried into battle and repolished before August 1945.
  18. The polish was done in WW2, so I think these pictures may be more convenient for the eye. Besides I used the link to Ed Marshall‘s listing, because he made way better pictures than I am able to.
  19. I offer a very beautiful yasukuni to made by the famous tosho Kotani Yasunori in March 1943. This especially long katana comes in shirasaya and the original matching numbers shingunto koshirae. This yasukunito has a good wartime polish, so every activity is clearly visible. Anyway I recommend a new quality polish to reveal the supreme beauty of the Yasunori entirely. The shingunto koshirae is in excellent to near mint condition. The locking mechanism works well. Here are the measurements of the katana: Nagasa: 69,85cm Overall: 91,44cm Motohaba: 3,175cm Sakihaba: 2,1cm Kasane: 0,63cm Sori: 1,9cm This katana was purchased from Ed Marshall. With his permission I post here the link to the former listing. There are detailed pictures and further information about this special smith. The asking price is 6250€ or best offer. The sword is currently in Germany and can be shipped worldwide with DHL premium international. As payment method I prefer paypal friends and family or bank transaction. https://yakiba.com/yasunori-kotani/
  20. The Yasumune tachi is sold. Thank you folks for the kind words.
  21. The Okimasa is still available. Everyone looking for a high class gendaito in premium shingunto mounts should consider this special Okimasa with the rare Kazuyuki mei, made at the estate of Toyama Mitsuru. This particular gentleman was a founder of the infamous black dragon society.

Hello Grev, the pictures you have posted recently can‘t give us here sufficient hints for a solid judgment about your tanto. I think you should show the blade to some members of the token society for a better evaluation. The other option for a definite answer is a shinsa in Japan, as you know. Kind regards
  23. Hello Edward, thank you for the kind words.
