You are right, Ed. It gets more and more unpredictable, what may be sold quickly and which sword will stay for a long time.

I paid more than 6k€ for this Akihide. My asking price is a steal. When we in Europe buy swords from outside the EU, we have to pay at least 20% taxes for the import. The shingunto koshirae is the best one I ever saw in person. It fits perfectly and was probably custom ordered by the same person, who bought the katana directly from Kurihara Akihide.

Dear John, I think you are unaware that I sold several blades here in the last few years, so I am very trustworthy. Every transaction worked smoothly on my side, so telling the truth about worsening habits here in this timeframe is nothing but a sad observation. A real passion demands sacrifices. I am sure, if the asking price was just below 3k, it would be sold within minutes. The habits of greed and stinginess pollute this hobby way too much nowadays.

Hello gents, I traded recently one of my swords for a splendid Kurihara Akihide katana, which was also introduced recently in the thread high class gunto by its previous owner. The sword was made in February 1945 and comes with the original shingunto koshirae. The mounts are in minty condition and look amazing. Everything works perfectly and is as good as it can be. The katana was recently polished by David Hofhine. Here are the measurements: Nagasa: 66,67cm Motohaba: 3,3cm Sakihaba: 2,31cm Motokasane:0,71cm The blade resides currently in Germany and can be shipped internationally.
