  1. Hi Lev, It’s a page out of Nihon Toko Jiten by Fujishiro. Regards, Nicholas
  2. Here’s one example I found in a reference book. Can’t read Japanese so not sure about what it says but I hope it helps.
  3. No problem Lev. It looks like that mei is specific to the 4th generation Nagamichi in the swordsmith index. https://nihontoclub....a=All&school_nid=All
  4. Looks like: ōshū aizu ju miyoshi nagamichi 奥州会津住三善長道
  5. Looks like: Hizen Kuni Junin Tadakiyo
  6. The sword is definitely not high quality. But it certainly isn’t the lowest of low quality. I highly doubt this is a bundle sword. There was obviously some level of care used in forging this blade. The nioguchi is consistent throughout, the hada is consistent as well. No forging flaws present on the blade.
  7. Yes thank you.
  8. Thank you Ray
  9. Please help me nail down this date.
  10. What brings you to that conclusion?
  11. Yes it was. A woman was selling it. The sword came from her husband’s grandfather who served in ww2. She claimed the sword was in climate controlled storage for 50+ years. I knew it was something interesting when it was listed and I didn’t hesitate. I like the swords that come out of peoples closets, attics and basements that have been untouched for decades.
  12. 23.5 inch nagasa
  13. Just wanted to share a recent find in Shin Gunto mounts a signed and dated Bishu Osafune Sukesada dated 1522 in exceptional condition.
  14. Thank you
  15. Can someone please help me with the date on this sword. I believe it’s around 1521 but I could be totally off. thank you
  16. I just took a look and yes it does have the Suya harp logo on the guard. Is this of some significance?
  17. Yes, it’s an interestingly constructed blade.
  18. Thanks Conway. That definitely helped point me in the right direction
  19. Hi can anyone please translate what is written on both sides of this blade above the habaki. Thank you.
  20. It looks like it’s been through a few polishes but It is still quite thick. The habaki is 1 piece. But the blade is in shirasaya. Purchased in the United States but it is possible it has been to shinsa before. Possibly failed. Looks like it was looked after pretty well.
  21. Hi, I have this tanto signed Yoshimitsu. Just curious on opinion whether it could possibly be of the Tosa Yoshimitsu lineage and also if it appears to be from the Muramachi period.
  22. Thanks Ray, The blade is in good condition as well. It had some kinda film on it that came off with some elbow grease and revealed a well preserved wartime polish. It was a good find.
  23. Sure Bruce, I only see numbers 261
  24. Awesome thank you
