  1. it looks like its been welded. about 3 years ago i welded a longer nakago on to a hanwei practical katana to make it a nagmaki just for the fun of it, and it finished up looking simular, and to age it, I heated it till it was red hot and then quenched it a mud puddle to get a nice patina, and it worked some what. My thoughts are it may have been repaired after the war for a trophy for a US soldier. but its just a guess. Regards Hamish
  2. dont mean to but in, but i have purchised 2 items from john now and i have to say im happy with them both, one of which has been posted on this site. A tsuba with maple leave's flouting down a river. his items are much better in you hand then in the photos, not to sound like a salesman but the photos dont do thm justice, and his prices are pretty good.   4. hello mike the sizes of the tsuba are as follows" 8cm across and 8.4cms top to bottom and 0.4cm thick on the rim this tsuba is dished in the middle. Rgards Hamish
  5. hello again, a new kozuka with a bow and arrow theme, it might be late edo. but i dont know if fittings this late can be traced back to a school or style. it has a mon that might be tokugawa. any ideas or suggestion's are welcome. Regards Hamish

  8. Mr Walker were are you finding these koto bizen blades from? ha ha. this one looks very nice just by looking at the horimono, it would be nice to get it polished. I am upset i cant find them myself. P.s. if you wont to sell that one please let me know, i normally collect sue-bizen blades but that tanto looks good. Regards Hamish

  10. It looks good as is, you can see all the features well. it looks like there is some utsori in the ji, so im thing Bizen, may be koto, but im still learning. so i hope i havent made a fool of my self. i say its more of interest than rubbish Regards Hamfish

  12. Yep that sure does look like a indian/china copy. im very sorry for you and i hope you didnt lose to much money. i really dislike the peaple who peddle this type of rubbish.
