can some please tell me why this smith is so highly rated? the same bold Jigane is a sue bizen/mino tanto or yorodoshi would not get the same attention

this is a very odd/ interesting. all my flags have been either bought from Japan, or from friends who have had them for 20 years plus. so are there people in Japan faking them, or more coming from china or the US

yes, your right. exactly the same, im abit annoyed. iv got some closer photos of the writing, stitching and seams, and have taken some comparison photos of another flag. so heres the next question, have I bought a counterfeit. or is some one copying off a original?

wow, scary very simular indeed, well this does raise some questions. well the flag matches all demensions to the mm, that is mentioned in jim dawson book. also the flag is in my opinion ww2 or older. I will post better pics

Hi guys I hope you are all well, well here is a really hard to find item, its a rare flag for a type 19 flag sword. I got this from Japan some years ago and have been trying to translate it with F-A luck. its just to hard with the semi cursive script. Im really interested to know whats written, so Im willing to pay for translation. I still cant understand all the fuss over the type 95's of any version. finding a type 32 with matching numbers under 10,000 is by far a rarer item. they have seen more combat us over a larger area, and have a some what good reputation for a machine made blade for combat use. the type 95's didn't fare well over time, becoming loose, the wodden core in the tsuka rotted easly, and frankly the quality can vary different from sword to sword. so why such silly prices? the poor type 32 was so durable it was sent back to the armory to be refitted and re-issued, regards H

its a showato, the names give's it away. Its a non-traditional made sword for ww2. heaps of these on ebay in simular condition, mis-matched ETC. if your going to re-sell, I wouldn't spend any money as is a put togeather piece and the only market you can aim for is the beginner buyer. no serious collector buys this type of finished project. regards hamish

in that condition, with out the blade only about $1000 USD, the knot is a different story, it appears to be a court/diplomatics tassel and wasn't made to go on a Gernerals Grade Kyu gunto. theses tassels, is one of those things, could sell tomorrow tomorrow or it could be a year, findind some one who wants one is the key, they don't pop up oftern so prob about the 400-600 USD mark. any one care to disscuss this ?

Hi every one well I was at good sized auction yesterday and I was amazed at how high the prices were going. out of the 20 swords there only 3 were untouched by western hands, the rest were put togeather and or beyond repair. so why do people either not do there research before buying or go well over the normal retail price for something that you could have got better and cheaper on fleabay for. IE jim dawsons book sold for $245 second hand ??? I open this topic., as a very average collection of rough swords and militaria made over $63,000 :o

yasumitsu in type 44 mounts, or you yanks would say type 3 mounts. theres are late war IE 1944, by the look of th mei I would say showato, the date I will leave to some one else as im off to work

looking at the shape of missing kissaki Ha, im thinking that maybe a massive flaw was missed on inspection? being that it follows the curve of the Kissaki ha, iv never seen damage from a strike like that
