  4. I have some tsuba in that price range but like gray said. Unless your very very very very very very lucky, the only thing that price range will get is junk
  5. The blade is most likely not a true nihonto. The vast majority of these sword model have Blacksmith style blades. So a talented Blacksmith might be able to help, as the metal in these types of blade can be springy. . Pics will help, as i dont see a mekugi so i bet its either a screw in the pommel or a peened over end
  6. Thats a busy hamon
  7. Hi guys. Does anyone know if i can buy a matchlock and import to Australia?. Rang firearms branch in sa and they couldn't answer because they dont know what a matchlock is
  8. Warning bells. Big difference between knife and sword
  9. i have little time for john but i hole heartly agree with him, that was a poorly setup ebay sale that stood to land a eagle eyed collector a great bargin, but half the bloody world now knows. and alot slips under the radar, alot.
  10. Thankyou very much for the assistance again. Kind regards Hamish
  11. guys i need help again. hes not in sloughs. edit, once again this was the correct way up. but boom upside dwon?
  12. I email dale on occasions too. Still haven't heard from him either... Was planning to pass thro his hometown in 4 weeks
  13. Just maybe it had older papers, that where suspicious and got lost??
  14. Unsigned ubu katana with old papers isnt great and that dealer is known for modifying koshirae and fittings to make something more appealing. Because for some silly reason Western collectors wont buy a good sword in shirasaya. But are happy to consider a lower level sword if its mounted
  15. Well iv demanded a refund and got rebuffed, so next step is to go through paypal and see how that goes. I informed the company that i was going to start action for a refund, and got rudely informed in a condescending tone that maybe i was dim for not understanding that its NOT THERE FAULT.
  16. Sorry , iv only imported into Japan for restoration via Narita. Easy 1 hour process. This was over 10 years ago tho. But let me know how it goes. I have a tanto currently waiting for export approval. 5 months of hearing this sentence. Not our fault
  17. Whats your thoughts on the state of the hamon jussi?? To my eyes its almost gone to tge ha in some places
  18. The kissaki has the yokote but the boshi looks thin. A trait of the smith or repair??
  19. Nice gunto, but i would warn off anyone form buying nihonto from jauce atm. Iv had a sword with them for close to 5 months and still not a sign of export permit. They have no interest in going above to ask why. They just reply its not our fault....
  20. I think its a completely fruitless idea to compare swordsmiths to painters. Completely different purposes for the use of the end product
  21. I wasn't making a barbed comment john, just wish him success while asking him if hes based in Australia as his prices are in yen. And making a suggestion that competition in narrow markets, historically can lead to competitive pricing.
