  1. what would your re-wrap it with??
  2. Shag or cormorant, There a water bird, they feed on water based animals like fish and frogs and live only around water. Both sea and fresh water. Its pearched on a ore, worming itself in the sun buy spreading its wings to soak up as much heat to heat up its core temp
  3. Toyota every day of the week. Grew up in 2 old 2x4 hilux's on the farm. All had over 400,000kms on the clock with no major issues.. Had a fj cruiser 200,000 kms with no issues and a yaris with close to 300,000kms. Once again no issues.
  4. Well if we have no confidence in the NTHK OR NBTHK, that might raise issues to opinions on juyo and above considering the costs involved with achieving that high quality certification
  5. Didn't try the NTHK??
  6. Oh, sorry for the mis understanding
  7. The joys of pricing items... Some offer full market retail opinions, and some suggest collector to collector prices. But at the end of the day a item only sells for what a buyer wants. And it sounds you want it. What else are you getting from otto and mark?? I know hes got some swords hes asking 50k for, so out of interest alone, it would be a exercise in curiosity
  8. Wow, really nice selection of higo tsuba.
  9. Could be the camera angle but that horimono is definitely added later buy a not so skilled person , maybe a showa era addition?? And looking at the tail looks like is cover a big flaw. Price guess. 2500 to 3500 aud.
  10. Really need better photographs. We can see alot of detail. But the horimono from the photographs looks abit chippy
  11. A maurata, would have had the fitting made to suit the sword. Not that other way round. Because it should have been its first mounting
  12. There not " compressed " as you call it, in what i think you mean by as in reduced by a hard suriage, having the nakago reshaped and reducing the thickness??? Its just very very poorly finished . Very very suspicious. I wouldn't touch it with your pole suspicious. Chrome plated or literally puffed and polished on a wheel to a inche of its life
  13. You guys in the US have a stronger market and therefore more buyers. Australia is different, very different. Smaller buying group. And i cant see Mark wanting the hassle of selling internationally
  14. Not to speak meanly, but Otto's prices have always been on the fantasticly high side. Imho a non traditional blade in good mounts. 2500-3200 aud. Thr surate looks added on, the patina and wear doesnt match. So the tassel is equally suspect to the originality to the sword
  15. Andrew doesn't polish any old sword. And i can't speak on his behalf but hes has decline jobs on condition of blades. Remember he gets paid the same to polish masterpieces compared ordinary unknown smith..
  16. Well im interested and think its worth a gamble
  17. [GN1-11-2-02] Japanese Sword: Masamune Tanto w Horimono in Shirasaya | eBay found the link. no a ugly piece
  18. Cool thanks. Not a masterpiece but i thought it was a nice piece from my travels to Takeyama
  19. Hi guys after decades i finally got it framed but never thought of seeing whom painted it. Help please
