  1. I continually enjoy your words of observation and intelligence jussi. You not just add substance to a topic but unbiased opinions that can only help lift up all your fellow members knowledge
  2. That will surely polish out
  3. Well if you judge a school by how many smiths master smiths they produced, and how many of the works received juyo and above ranking. I would has a guess that the ko bizen school would take the mantle
  4. im going the complete opposite direction it appears cheap, nasty machine rolled backstrap thats been then shaped. the rest is just poor. blade has no threaded pommel or peg holding to togeather and the blade " if you call it that, just a flat piece of bar " isnt evan fitting to the handle correctly so most likely just glued in. its modern rubbish in my opinion. theres sooooo much of this crap comming out in the last 15 years its not funny. dont wast your money
  5. evan im raising my eyebrows.
  6. Thanks David, I was thinking of this as a study/catch and release because being a fan of osafune bizen im completely ignorant in Yokohama bizen.
  7. simular work from a sukesada but the mei is far apart,, but i think ill bit and try and buy it
  8. i thought i would ask because apart for the blues/green papars the work does look like yokoyama bizen. i know its not a diamond in the rough, and that fact yokoyama isnt the hight of the the bizen tradition but thought it was worth a secand look. who else would make gunome like that?

  13. thank you very much, need to brush up on my traditional carpentary knowledge
  14. lets apply Occam's razor to this sword . 1-hamon, clearly oil quenched, clealy in the mino seki style know to be mass produced during era. 2-kissaki dosnt match koa isshin mantetsu "a robust ko kissaki" the above has more of a chu. 3- very fresh mei that dosnt even match the patina of the clearly cleaned nakago 4-nakago shape tapers to much 5- the poorly finished yasurime, koa isshin had etremely well finished nakago and yasurime. so go with whats the simpler explanation or most obvious. IE a mumei seki/showato tarted up at look like a more commercial sale to the uneducated white man, compared to a mumei seki-to that wouldnt evan sell on fleabay. stick that in your fife and smoke it
  15. your right, clearly. you clearly speak with andrew often, be on first name basis and have kantei lessons from him or had jobs declined from him. bloody youtube experts. dont fill this poor guys mind with false hope. but i know what andrew will say. so you might aswell point him towards Aoi-art. they will take his money
