  1. Hello NMB members just testing waters on my beautiful gendatio traditionally made signed Kanetsugu. Beautiful choji crab claws hamon ko Mokume tight hada, has a few scratches here and there and a spot with some dried grease no fatal flaws or anything that wouldn't clean off or polish out beautiful Nihonto comes with nice katana bag made in Japan of course. 3000$ firm because a portion will be donated to NMB+ shipping.
  2. I think that is what makes Nihonto's a mysterious artifact is the long story behind them of how they got to where they are today. I definitely feel very honored to have something like this and I find it very important to preserve it for that reason alone, survived a gruesome war but its road ends in suburban America just doesn't sit right with me.
  3. I can promise if I sell anything on this site I will be donating. I really can't believe people dont just take that into consideration this site is amazing and especially to a younger Nihonto collector who is new to all of this just want to say thank you for all the great advice I've gotten from you guys A+.
  4. That is a great idea my friend, thank you for the comments I agree with you it definitely deserves a better spot then that but it was nice of bruce to have my back alittle hahah.
  5. Ko Mokume hada is a hard one to take pictures of, it glitters in the light gorgeous.
  6. I already saw the trashcan thing coming I'm sorry I was at work haha. So no star stamp or numbers at the bottom of the tang but signature's match perfect.
  7. Trying to get a appraisal on my gendatio beautiful blade traditionally made signed Kanetsugu in good condition with no chips and has original thickness and accessories.
  8. Wow you have some beautiful swords my friend I promise I will be doing some business with you in the near future.
  9. Hey thank you to all who responded I really appreciate your time and information I'm sorry for posting this twice I thought the first one didn't post I will do my best to not let it happen again in the future. I really think this site is wonderful for the Nihonto world it's been extremely helpful to me so far thanks again you guys. Sincerely Edward.
  10. I'm not too worried about getting papers or anything like that kinda sucks that I don't know if it was made in Japan or not but it definitely looks like a real Nihonto from the pictures.
  11. So are these blades chinese made?
  12. Sorry about that I just couldn't find my original post my apologies new to this site.
  13. I believe that is the name he seemed very honest told me he thought the signature was a fake I'm not like a super high end collector so stuff like that doesn't bother me.
  14. Does this look like a Nihonto from what I was told it's a modern make from a desperate smith or a younger student of a smith from Japan good buy or no.
  15. Wondering if this is a good buy, seems like a real Nihonto to me but I know alot of people on this site know alot more than I do from what I'm told it's from either a desperate smith or a younger student of a smith??
  16. What do you guys think it's worth what should I price it at?
  17. Yeah I think I might just sell this one or use it for cutting practice I still think it's beautiful it doesn't bother me to much that it's not traditionally made, I'm really into the Muromachi period swords and obviously Edo but who isn't into Edo swords hahah.
  18. Well I appreciate the help figuring out what kind of sword it is and who made it. I think getting it back to gunto mounts would be a good start way I look at it though it was still handmade in Japan and its still in fairly good condition has to be worth something.
