  1. Interesting photos of the official Japanese surrender of the weapons in Batavia on 15 May 1946. The allied representative is Major P.A.A. Haining of the Allied H.Q. The Japanese representative is Major-General Nishimura. .
  2. Yari, old sirasaya and polish.
  3. Hello, Does anyone have an example of this type of koto Yari (kawari-gata ryo-shinogi-zukuri Yari) with hitatsura hamon? Best, John
  4. However, the signature and dating of the right sword looks suspicious...
  5. For those who are interested, these are the three swords dated Showa January 20 (1945). If anyone knows of a sword with a later date, please let me know.
  6. Yes, more early. Thank you. But I am looking for the last dated sword, which means later from Showa 20, January.
  7. I see, but this is signed by 義則, Yoshinori.
  8. Thanks, but what kind of file? Is there a source?
  9. Hello, I am looking for the last known dated sword of Kenzo Kotani in the Second World War, signed as Yasunori and Takenori. Over the years, I have found three swords, all dated Showa 20 (1945) January. Best regards, John
  10. Maybe interesting. From a Dutch newspaper, January 1939. Stainless Safety Sword The Japanese Minister of War, Lieutenant General Itagaki, accompanied by several high-ranking officers, has witnessed trials of a new stainless steel Japanese sword, with which no unintended accidents can be caused. The blacksmith who made it started his work ten years ago and has worked steadily on it. To the contrary, the new sword is also unbreakable.
  11. This is the original photo.
  12. Better pictures of the source, NIMH. Dutch military site.
